Party Of Five, originally called "The Night Riders", was comprised of five friends who were attending Carteret High School in New Jersey at the time. We played a variety of venues that included school dances, private parties and clubs. We also competed in a number of "Battle of The Bands" contests. While three of the original members left the group and others replaced them, Bill and Mike F. remained as the core of the group. We continued on until 1969 when Uncle Sam made us an offer we couldn't refuse. Getting married and starting families made it impossible for the band to get back together, that is until 1997 when four of the five original members decided to "Ride Again". Once we started jamming we were quick to realize just how much we missed playing. In 1998, Gordon joined the group to fill the vacant bass guitar position. It was at this time we decided to change our name to "Party of Five". We focused on playing "Classic Rock'n Roll", Oldies and Doo Wop. The passion soon turned into weekly practices and before long, we were playing out again. In 2008, Tony filled our vacant keyboard position and Mike T. took over on drums. Party Of Five has opened for such acts as "The Belmonts", "Uncle Floyd", and "Rare Earth". What distinguishes us from other bands is our unique song selection, as can be seen by our song list below. Party Of Five covers songs spanning five decades including Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Oldies, Motown and Doo Wop. |
